Scrapping has become quite a big business around here. When I put my garbage out to the curb yesterday I saw 4 different scrapping trucks come around looking for metal. This really is a sign of the economy, because the garbage is over picked now. At least these people are finding some way to be able to make money. It just looks like it might be hard because you would have to be the first one at a garbage pile in order to get any of the metal.

Believe it or not, one of my favorite things to get for any holiday is a gift card from somewhere that I like to shop. Last year I got a few Gift Cards from the Home Depot and I used them to purchase myself new flooring for my dining room and I loved it. There is no way people would have known what to buy me at the Home Depot! I have done a lot of research on different power sources, and I would really like to run my house off of wind power, but that is not possible in my current location. I live in the city and my furthest neighbor is about 20 feet away. I want to find the right energy source so that the electric company would pay me for my electricity instead of having a bill, wouldn’t that be awesome?!

We have been looking into how much it would cost to start switching some of the things in our house to solar power because the price of electricity is getting outrageous. The thing that is the worst about solar energy is the start up costs, because it costs quite a bit for the solar panels, the batteries, and the setup. I would like to get this done within the next 5 years, so it is a obtainable goal. Hopefully as more people are switching to alternative energy sources the price will go down on things like this.
